Update on the Koi.......they still don't look like fish!!! I found myself becoming so frustrated with my lack of ability to paint the darn tails!!!! I think I'll switch to painting flowers. I set my expectations way too high. but it's OK - I can just move on :)

So I've learned that being creative can also be frustrating. I have a habit of setting high expectations for myself - this might be a nurse thing, we are all high achievers - but am learning to laugh it off. Just look at those tails! funny!
So cool! Learning takes time doesn't it? ;) I can't wait to see more of your pictures. Btw, when are you going to invite your art teacher to your home? :D
ReplyDeleteCreativity...artistry is PERSPECTIVE. From my perspective, each one of your koi are amazing...they have a character just like in real life. I bet that on any given day...you don't look exactly the same. Say, bad hair days, fat days, etc. Not that I am saying you every look like either to me. You ALWAYS look so put together. :)
ReplyDeletePut your paintings away for a little while and the look at them again...and when you do, try really hard to look at each as if you have never seen them before let alone created them. See if it helps! Keep on keepin on girl.
